My story

Meet Louie! This sweet shih tzu boy should be spending his golden years in the comfort of a quiet home, curled up in a cozy bed with someone who adores him. Instead, he found himself back at the shelter ~ confused, matted to the skin, and heartbroken. He was adopted just a year ago - just one! And then, without warning, returned. His coat was so severely neglected he had to be sedated and completely shaved. The reason given? “I don’t have time.” Louie didn’t understand. He still doesn’t. But he’s trying to be brave. Frankly, we don’t understand either. He's friendly, healthy, and mobile. He’s full of gentle resilience and good with dogs and cats, though he can do without the chaos of young children. When Louie arrived at Miri’s Haven, he quietly said hello to the other dogs, then found a bed and curled up as if to say, “Is this home now?” He deserves more than temporary comfort - he deserves a family who will never give up on him again.
