** $50 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** Meet Mango ACCT-A-222517! Mango is a 5-year-old male who came in as an owner surrender on 6/9 due to the owner moving. The owner noted that Mango “lived with children, hides from strangers, friendly with children and cats.” Medical Notes: Per an exam on 6/12: "Concern for anorexia since surrender however patient was noted to have eaten majority of his food overnight. Objective: -BAR, nervous. intermittently growling throughout exam -Mild gingivitis -Tense to abdominal palpation, no organomegaly palpable -Body condition score of 7 -Assessment: -Anorexia, improving: r/o 2' to stress from new environment vs primary GI (Non-specific gastroenteritis, FB/dietary indiscretion vs. infectious (viral, parasitic vs. bacterial), vs. IBD vs. toxin vs. neoplasia) vs. secondary GI (renal, hepatic, endocrine or pancreatic disease) -Overweight -IH CBC/chem/lytes/T4: Plt 83K (L), rest WNL -IH Blood Smear: Adequate platelets - numerous large platelet clumps along feathered edge & throughout monolayer. Per medical staff 6/12: "Mango didn't allow syringe feeding. Started to hiss and tried to swat. Left a/d food mixed with water in foster office but did not continue with syringe feeding as to not further stress pt." Per medical staff 6/11: "Eating some dry cat food. Offered assortment of food/treats, Mango really liked hydra care w/ dry cat food, as well as temptations treats & greenies. Continue monitor appetite, semes like he eats mostly while alone. Came out eventually & was seeking a lot of attention- purring, rubbing on my legs, leaning into pets" Per medical staff on 6/9: Due to Mango’s weight there is concern that if he does not eat, he will go into liver failure. Per an exam on 6/9: -Body condition score of 8 -15.54lbs -Ears are waxy -Yellow staining on all teeth, pink/moist gums -Quiet, alert, responsive and scared ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
