In 1726, Irish author Jonathan Swift introduced the world to Lemuel Gulliver and his travels. Nearly three hundred years later, Tabby’s Place was introduced to a sweet tuxie who wasn’t as well-traveled as his namesake, but who had met Gulliver-sized hardships of his own. While the Original Gulliver survived a shipwreck and was held prisoner by a society of tiny people, Our Gulliver was found on the side of the road after he was most likely hit by a car. Gulliver was left with a fractured pelvis, femur, and tail, among other injuries. And although his chances of survival seemed slim for a time, Gulliver’s hope and love were unwavering.Gulliver’s injuries were stabilized with surgery and plates, and he lost part of his tail to an infected wound. But throughout it all, Gulliver amazed the humans around him with his affections (and his appetite). He made the most out of his situation (and made muffins out of the blankets on which he recovered). Today, Gulliver is doing well and enjoying time with the other felines in our community room. Although he remains urinary incontinent and needs to have his bladder expressed, Gulliver leads an otherwise normal life.Gulliver has found his favorite spot in his room where he hangs out with his feline besties. This handsome fella may be a bit nervous at first, but once he knows that someone (human or feline) is a friend, he’ll warm right up.Sometimes shy and always sweet, Gulliver can be an absolute purr-machine. He’s ready to share those purrs with a forever family of his own. Are you ready to welcome this young adventurer into your heart? Fill out an online adoption application today!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gulliver, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
