My story

Macie is an orange and white beauty with a little secret—she’s a proud tripod! With just three legs, this resilient girl takes life at her own pace, preferring the quiet comforts of a calm home over the hustle and bustle. While her three-legged strut is pretty cool, Macie isn’t one to show off—she’s a laid-back lady who values her space and her solitude. Macie needs a little time to decompress in new places and with new people, but once she’s settled, she’s a sweet and steady presence. You’ll often find her curled up in her favorite bed or tucked into a cozy hidey hole, quietly observing the world. She’d thrive in a home with older teens or adults—rowdy young children aren’t her vibe. Macie gets along well with small dogs and other cats who respect her space. If you’re looking for a chill companion with a quiet strength and a gentle heart, Macie is ready to make your home her safe haven. Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
