This scruffy little heartthrob is a one-year-old Jack Russell/Yorkie mix with a serious lap addiction. Weighing in at just 17 pounds, Chewy is the perfect size for snuggles, couch hangs, and popping up out of nowhere to steal your seat the second you stand up.Chewy is housebroken, crate trained, and walks like a champ—as long as there are no irresistible sticks in sight. He sleeps soundly in his crate at night and hangs out there when no one’s home.Training-wise, he’s a work in progress, but if you have treats, you have his full attention. He’s quickly picking up on commands like “stay,” but let’s be honest—when you’re this cute, obedience is optional.Chewy is incredibly friendly and affectionate with everyone he meets. He’s great with kids, loves other dogs, and has been totally chill around cats. His current foster dog sibling is a golden retriever, and Chewy basically worships the ground she walks on. He’s gentle, playful, and blessedly not much of a barker—which is a win for your ears and your neighbors. His shaggy coat gives him that “I just rolled out of bed and still look adorable” vibe, so he’ll definitely benefit from regular grooming. If you’re looking for a sidekick who’s equal parts lap dog, walking buddy, and professional stick curator, Chewy might just be your perfect match. My adoption fee is $350.00. AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age appropriate) and microchipped. We’ve been checked by a veterinarian, and we’re up to date on age appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We’ve been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we’ve started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chewy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
