My story

Meet Dewey, a 7.5-year-old black Lab mix with a heart as big as his smile! This handsome guy is the definition of loyal and loving—always ready with a wagging tail, gentle eyes, and a warm presence that makes you feel instantly at ease. Dewey is friendly and has that classic Lab charm that makes him a favorite wherever he goes. Whether you’re heading out for a walk or relaxing on the couch, Dewey just wants to be by your side, soaking up the love and giving it right back. He’s neutered, medically up-to-date, and ready to start his next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he’ll love them (which is a lot). If you’re looking for a devoted companion with years of love to give, Dewey is your guy! Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
