My story

Meet Pepper Pontoon! 15-year-old Pepper was surrendered by her family to Los Angeles Animal Care and Control – Baldwin Park Shelter for unknown reasons. Soon after becoming a Frosted Face, Pepper went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about her in a home environment while she enjoyed lots of love and attention. Here is the scoop from her Fling Mom: "Pepper is such a easy, sweet, quiet, and mellow girl. And she has the cutest underbite! Pepper has excellent behavior when a person or dog comes up to her. She allowed everyone to pet her and pick her up gently. Pepper does great with dogs (big and small), although she prefers mellow ones. She tried to chase the cat that she met but didn't growl. Pepper did great when home alone. No barking or separation anxiety. She would just go to her bed and nap. I checked the camera while I was at work (I work part-time) as she was always sleeping. Pepper loves her walks and has pep in her step! She loves to explore and smell everything. She also loved to walk on the beach and didn't mind the water on her legs. Pepper has excellent behavior when a person or dog comes up to her. She just stands there or will walk up to you. She didn't mind food or toys taken away. She did chase after a cat but did not growl. Pepper would sleep through the night, have a short morning walk to go potty (I live in an apartment), and eat her breakfast before I headed off to work for 5-6 hours. Once I was back, Pepper would excitedly greet me with tail wagging, and we would go on another walk. Then we would hang out for rest of the day, following me around, taking walks, visiting friends, or napping and dreaming. Pepper loves following you and especially likes watching you cook in the kitchen. Pepper would be a great family member to have and with more time, I feel her personality would have blossomed even more!" Pepper is currently on a second Fling while she waits for her forever family.
