My story

Meet Dexter Dune! Dexter came to us from San Diego Humane Society on June 20th. He is about 12 years old, weighs 19 lbs., and is very sweet and gentle. We learned a lot about Dexter when he went home with a volunteer for a four-day Field Trip. Here's the scoop: This lovable guy was a little anxious during his car ride before settling in. We suspect he just wants a better view of the world—maybe a comfy booster seat with a safety belt would suit him better for future adventures. Thanks to Dexter's love of treats and quick learning skills, he mastered potty training in no time. What a smart cookie! Dexter is currently receiving treatment for some skin issues under the care of the FFF vet team. He’s been a trooper through medicated baths every other day—even when it meant sitting still for ten long minutes! He braves the baths like a champ - with a little face-nuzzling for comfort, At home, Dexter the perfect mix of mellow and playful. He even joined his foster mom during Pilates, and when accidentally nudged, responded with a joyful play bow. On our most recent FFF group hike, Dexter was full of energy, showing off his sweet smile and adorable underbite to everyone he met. Needless to say, he was a crowd favorite! Dexter is treat-motivated, people-friendly, and always up for some cuddles or a stroll once he warms up. He’s looking for a loving home that can give him a whole lot of love as he continues to heal and thrive. Ready to meet your new best friend? Dexter is waiting to win your heart—underbite and all!
