My story

Apollo’s mother was in showbusiness, and though he had the opportunity, Apollo declined to be a star himself – preferring the quieter life of a lap cat! This is what Apollo’s family had to say about him: “Apollo is a nice cat that is usually quiet and keeps to himself, but when it’s just his favorite people he likes to be near them. He will gently pat with his paw to request attention, and starts to purr and drool when petted. He tolerates being held and will even purr, but it’s not his favorite thing. He has grown used to children and sometimes lets them pet him, but usually finds them too loud and energetic. He likes to sleep on comfy places like couches and beds. He can meow loudly when he’s hungry or upset, like if a door is closed to a place he wants to enter. When our morning alarms go off he usually starts to body slam the bedroom door and meow to make sure we get up and feed him. He is always excited to eat... He tolerates the other cats in the house but does not really interact with them.” Sound like the purr-fect fit for you? Come meet Apollo today! If you’d like to meet our available pets, please check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Apollo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
