My story

Meet Leo! This wanna-be lion is a sweet boy who loves to play. He loves feather wands and jingle balls, and springs. He will slide across the floor chasing his toys like he's a kitten. He also for some reason likes to play with a bed sheet on the floor. I put a sheet on the floor while I was cleaning one day and he came running over and slid across the floor on it and proceeded to bury himself and role around. He can be an odd boy sometimes, but he will definitely keep you entertained! Just keep him busy with toys and sit back and watch the show! He might have a slightly funny face, and like to get into things, but he's one of the sweetest cats around! I forgot to mention Leo has lived with other cats, both male and female. Leo can be a bit much sometimes - when he's playing and just in general- so it would have to be a good fit. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
