My story

**About Bao:** Thank you for your interest in adopting Bao. Please know that Bao is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process for many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. #Rescue story: Bao and his 7 siblings were around 1–2 months old when they were spotted by a rescuer on the side of the road. There was no sign of their dog mom nearby, only two cardboard boxes. We believe they were abandoned in the boxes by someone. Sadly, this kind of situation happens quite often in Taiwan. Bao is a sweet and affectionate boy. He can be a little nervous with strangers in a new environment at first, but he’s not timid. He’s food-motivated, which helps him open up quickly. Bao has very amusing big ears. Sometimes they stand up, sometimes one up the other down, and sometimes they droop completely. His ears are very floppy. Bao’s characteristics, quirks and things to know about him: 1. He has long legs and is very smart, maybe he knows this is one of his strengths, so he likes to sneakily use his paws to pull things like dishcloths or plastic bags off the table to chew on. 2. He likes to bite leaves during walks. 3. Bao is food-motivated. After he finishes his own meal, he always wants to eat other dogs’ food, especially his brother’s. When other dogs try to come close to eat his food, he eats even faster and becomes anxious. Because of this, we recommended giving the dogs some distance during mealtime. 4. He does not show aggression toward people. 5. His current foster home is in an apartment. On a few occasions when it rained heavily and he couldn’t go outside, he used pee pads indoors (on peed pads). However, he definitely prefers doing his business outdoors. 5. Bao is really smart! He can open doors!!!! LOL (He truly knows how to use his strengths.) One time at the animal hospital, he opened the door of his crate, and after walking out, he even remembered to open his brother’s crate next to his!! Bao is ready to find his forever home! If you’re interested in him, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bao, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
