Meet Epica, Queen of Sass, Spunk and Smiles! Epica is a 2-year-old, 18-pound tri-point Merle Frenchie with a spunky, sassy, and affectionate personality. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Pika”, and she has made herself at home from the moment she arrived. With her signature little tongue always peeking out, Epica has a way of keeping everyone around her smiling. Personality: She is fearless, energetic, and playful. Epica loves engaging with her foster siblings and has a natural “motherly” instinct, often stepping in to keep the household in check. Despite her size, she’s full of confidence and isn’t afraid to make herself heard. Epica has a few favorite pastimes that make her shine. She loves hard chew toys and small plush toys that fit perfectly in her mouth, but she’s not particularly interested in chasing balls. Car rides are one of her favorite activities, and she’s always well-behaved in the car. She also enjoys walks in the evening and is steadily improving with her loose-leash training. While she doesn’t fight the leash, she is still learning to walk calmly at her foster moms side. Foster Pupdate: What makes Epica extra special is her affectionate nature. She loves to be close to her humans, whether it’s cuddling up next to them or hopping into their laps. Her eagerness for affection sometimes results in her leaping right into faces for kisses, so she’s currently learning the “off” command to help her settle into gentler ways of showing her love. Her foster mom jokes that she has no problem regulating the other dogs when she feels it’s needed, especially her bigger shepherd brother. Behavior: Like many Frenchie’s with big personalities, Epica does have moments that can be misunderstood. If startled suddenly, especially when she’s resting, she may bark, growl, or snap briefly before realizing everything is okay. Remember she came from a large pack used for breeding, so she is learning to be social. She also has no problem correcting another dog if their energy makes her uncomfortable. With consistency, structure, and slow introductions, she settles quickly and goes back to being her playful, loving self. She is also making progress with potty training, though she still has occasional setbacks. With patience and consistency, she is showing improvement every day. Health: Medically, Epica is in great shape. Considering the condition she came into the rescue in; she has made an incredible turnaround. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated, and vetted, and she healed beautifully with no complications. At this time, she shows no underlying medical issues and is a healthy, happy young dog. Like any Frenchie watch her diet and control her allergies. Diet is key for Epica. Epica is looking for a forever home that will embrace her spunky spirit, continue her training, and give her the structure she thrives on. She is affectionate, funny, and full of personality, and her foster family says she has been an absolute pleasure to host. With the right family, Epica will blossom into a loyal, loving companion who will keep you entertained and loved every single day. If you are ready for a little sass, a lot of fun, and a lifetime of affection, Epica may just be the perfect match for you. Epica adoption donation fee is $1050.00 you can apply for her on our website at freedomfrenchierescue.org, she is located in Corona, Ca.
