My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog G:3Leigh – The Gentle, Shy Explorer of Scents Leigh is a 4-year-old, 67-pound Doberman Pinscher / American Pit Bull Terrier mix with a tender, cautious nature that quickly gives way to warmth and connection. Sensitive and affiliative, she’s the kind of companion who values quiet trust and steady reassurance, rewarding her people with loyalty and gentle affection once she feels comfortable. Calm walking partner: Strolls nicely on leash, exploring at a relaxed pace with her nose leading the way. Gentle with treats: Takes food softly from your hand and will practice a nice “sit” when asked. Affectionate in her own time: Enjoys staying close for pets and quiet companionship once she warms up. Polite with people: Approaches and great gentle people calmly, offering gentle sniffs to say hello. Curious but composed: Prefers sniffing and observing her surroundings over toys, content to explore the world around her. Leigh is a sensitive soul who thrives in calm environments where she can build trust at her own pace. Once she feels secure, her affectionate and steady nature shines through.
