My story

Meet Salt !! She is a female, approx 5 months old. She weighs 25 pounds. She is a stocky and thick little lady!! We are not sure of the exact breed. She is solid built and best guess American Bully mix but we aren’t sure. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative (yes we tested her early) and she is on preventions. She came to us with flea bites all over her, ear infections and some skin issues. She is already being treated for all of those. SALT - White and Black 25pds - A super sweet chunky little snuggle bug. Loves to couch cuddle and relax. Learning to play, starting to enjoy toys and bones. Lower energy level now but may increase as she settles in. She has started doing zoomies. Still gets scared and pancakes on leash. Occasionally jumps up on people. Will mouth your hands but very gently. She is very friendly with people and other dogs. A bit shy at first when meeting a new dog or person but that doesn’t last long. She has not met any cats yet so we are unsure how she would do. She is very loving and gentle. Salt has met kids and does really well with them. Salt did fine on car rides. She has not had much experience with leash training. She is not fully potty trained yet but is learning and getting better when let out regularly. She is crate trained but will cry a bit when first put in. She has not had any trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She is in the chewing stage and learning what is a toy and what isn’t. Salt is a fairly relaxed puppy. She is at a great age where she is learning all of her manners but still young enough to mold well into your family. If you want a big scary looking pup that is nothing more than a mushy sweet heart then don’t miss out on this super sweet girl!! Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family’s lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response visit our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Salt, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
