My story

Basil is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans/strangers from an early age. She is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she appears wary of human contact. It is difficult to predict exactly how socialized she is and if she will respond to further socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.My foster writes: Burrata and Basil are two young sister cats who bring a calm, gentle presence to the home. Since arriving, we've learned that they love observing everything around them. They have the sweetest, most curious little expressions, sometimes it genuinely feels like they're quietly "commenting" on whatever we're doing, and it always makes us smile.During the day, they relax in their favorite cozy spots where they feel safe and comfortable. And when nighttime comes, they open up a bit more: they come out to explore, walk around the home with quiet curiosity, and show small signs of growing confidence. Watching these little moments has been incredibly rewarding.They are very clean, peaceful, and easygoing. While they aren't seeking direct contact yet, their progress is clear, they're spending more time out in the open, moving around more confidently, and showing a stronger interest in their surroundings. With patience and a stable, loving environment, they continue to take meaningful steps forward.Burrata and Basil are looking for a calm and understanding home where they can continue growing at their own pace. They're perfect for someone who appreciates a peaceful home and finds beauty in watching shy cats slowly blossom.
