My story

Meet River Five years old. Fifty one pounds. Pitbull mix. Certified goofball. River may be deaf, but she is fluent in joy. She doesn’t hear the world, she feels it. She watches your face like it’s her favorite show. She reads your body language like a love letter. A little hand signal, a big smile, a gentle touch, and she lights up. Communication with River becomes something special, almost secret. A quiet little language that belongs just to you. And goofy? Olympic level. She will toss her toys in the air for her own entertainment. She will bounce with pure, unfiltered enthusiasm. She has that perfect blend of playful sparkle and couch-snuggle sweetness. One minute she is zooming around the yard, the next she is leaning into you like you are her whole safe harbor. River does wonderfully with big dogs. Small dogs make her nervous, so she is asking for a home without tiny canine roommates. She has previously lived with cats and done just fine. And car rides? Absolute bliss. Windows down, ears flopping in the breeze, big happy grin on her face. The world may be silent to her, but adventure is loud in her heart. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
