My story

UPDATES.... WITH LEO AND RUBY We are still looking for a most excellent adoption home to keep these two seniors together and they will be a blessing in any loving sheltie home. ❤ ❤ Both pups now doing 2 mile walks and just LOVING on life and looking to charm their people and bring much joy to anyone or any home that will love on them. ❤ ❤ Our UPDATES from our most excellent foster home, Pat Gavet and these pups are not slowing down but embracing LIFE in every way… LOL ❤ ❤ ❤ Leo is 13 and Ruby is 11 years old, but neither one is looking to live life in the slow lane. They came to me on April 19, and after a couple days to settle in and get used to their new setting I decided to take Ruby on a walk in my neighborhood to see the sights and smell the smells. Safely fastened into her double leash rig we set off on a 20 minutes walk. I was really impressed with her nice leash manners and we both enjoyed the stroll. But sad glances from Leo let me know that he was feeling left out. So we went his double leashes and then on to new experiences. He joined us for the 20 minute walk and still had much pep in his step. Each day we went for slightly longer walks. I have wonderful paved walking trails that run along the Perkiomen Creek. The park area has lots of wildlife to see.... Canada Geese, Whitetail deer and red foxes just to list a few. So many delightful smells. We gradually extended our distances. We are now doing about 2 miles a day. Their world is opening up !!! Dogs don't think about their ages. These two seem to be grabbing life with gusto. After breakfast there is Sheltie silly play time and then we're off to the park. They knock off for a late morning nap. Then they celebrate life with the " Four O'clock zoomies" and then settle in for a nice long snooze. I'm impressed with how well they balance action and restful leisure Welcome to Heart’s Promise Sheltie Rescue and FOSTER PUPS UPDATES and our newest senior Sheltie darlings, LEO and RUBY would like to chime in this evening and let all their new friends know they are doing MOST WELL. These two very sweet companion shelties are a bonded pair, and we plan on keeping them together. Ruby is 11 years old and 28 pounds and our little Leo is 13 years old and around 16 pounds. Both are very active, great mobility and super friendly and warm up quickly. Both have been in most all of their vetting care and multiple visits with testings, bloodwork, vaccinations and all their health care. Both are Lymes positive and are on Doxy for treatment which is not a huge deal and HPSR will ensure all their vetting care is up to date and they both had their dentals competed as well. These are two wonderful sheltie pups that love their people and are fabulous companion Shelties. They have excellent house manners and potty outside and love to trot the backyard and explore. They cuddle in their doggie bed and sleep close to each other, and they have been together for years… thus they need to stay together. Both Leo and Ruby are looking for that very special forever adoption home to call their own, and they will be great companion sheltie pups for any loving home that enjoy affection. They are fine with other dogs and would be just fine with cats as well. We would like to restrict small children or toddlers as these are older pups and they could be hurt with toddler play, or a small child that doesn’t understand these are senior shelties. These two pups are being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area. HPSR covers the state of PA. Both Leo and Ruby will need a SECURE FECNCED IN YARD... They love to be outside and explore the secure yard. Please… NO exceptions. (Please do not inquire if you do not have a secure fenced in yard) . We adopt to forever homes here in the state of PA and will consider adoption homes just over the PA state line, but we do NOT do long distance adoptions. Inquiries can be emailed to: mikelamontshelties@gmail.com or a reply here to their post on this adoption site. You can also contact HPSR for additional information with Leo and Ruby at: 724-601-5159. Adoption applications can also be downloaded from our website at: pasheltierescue.org Heart’s Promise Sheltie Rescue Serving the State of Pennsylvania Mike LaMont (Director) (724)-601-5159 pasheltierescue.org Visit us on Facebook
