My story

~ I can live in any size home, including apartments. I want a quiet home with not a lot of foot-traffic.~ I want to live with adults. I may be willing to consider sharing my home with gentle and respectful teenagers but no younger children please.~ I want a cat free home.~ I have not had much experience with dogs. I may be willing to share my home with a canine.~ I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day.~ I am a great dog with lots of potential. I would do best with a family who has owned small dogs before.Meet Nala! This adorable 2 year old, Mixed breed, weighs 18 pounds and has a beautiful brindle-and-white coat. Nala came to the shelter due to a change in her familys dynamic and is looking for a patient, understanding home. Her previous owner described her as smart, loving, playful, curious, and clingy with her people. Nala enjoys running in the play yard, playing fetch, going for walks, and exploring on sniff adventures. She has a medium to high energy level and loves interactive play. Nala can be shy and touch sensitive with new people, and she may bark at strangers. She would do best with experienced adopters who understand canine body language and will respect her space when needed. She previously lived with one adult and a teenager and would likely prefer a similar home environment. No younger children please. Nala must live in a cat-free home, as she frequently chased the cat she lived with previously. She has little experience with other dogs but may do well with a calm, respectful canine companion. Her previous owner reports that she is house-trained, crate-trained, and pee pad trained. She loves balls and hard toys but would prefer to skip brushing sessions. At times, Nala can become overexcited, jumpy, or pull on leash, so continued positive reinforcement training will help her continue building confidence and manners.
