My story

Ringo may look a little wonky, but don’t let that fool you — he is a perfectly normal, playful kitten with a big personality!Ringo has some scarring on his retinas that affects his peripheral vision. We don’t know whether he was born this way or if it resulted from an old injury, but the good news is that he is not in any pain, and he doesn’t let his vision differences slow him down one bit! His retinal scarring won’t heal, but Ringo has been evaluated by a veterinary ophthalmologist and received a clean bill of health. This silly little guy loves being a kitten. He’s a fan of chasing wand toys, scratching posts, exploring, and generally getting into whatever fun he can find. And when you pick him up? He purrs! His incredibly soft fur is just an added bonus.Because Ringo has limited peripheral vision, he can startle easily if approached unexpectedly from behind, above, or from the side. He does best when people let him know they’re coming and give him a moment to see them. For that reason, Ringo would be happiest in a quiet home without young children or other pets, where he can feel safe and confident in his surroundings.Ringo is a little different, a lot adorable, and completely deserving of someone who will appreciate all of the silly, sweet, wonky charm that makes him Ringo.Ringo will be at the shelter for adoption on Wednesday 10/7 from 3-7 pm, Thursday 10/8 from 3-7 pm, and Saturday 10/10 from 10 am - 4 pm. Come meet him!Our kittens grow up in foster homes, so they are not located on site for walk-in visits. While we do our best to list what day they will be on site for adoption hours, please feel free to call the shelter at 480-497-8296 and press # to speak to our front desk and confirm availability. Our kittens are typically in for adoption hours Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p and Saturday 10a-4p.Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ringo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
