Meet Chewy – A Resilient Senior Looking for Love! Chewy is a 12-year-old neutered Chihuahua with a heart as big as his journey. After his owner passed away, he was left to fend for himself until he was brought to safety by kind-hearted strangers. Though he arrived in rough shape, Chewy has received excellent medical care—including the removal of one eye—but he’s proving that resilience knows no age (a real New Yorker!). Now settling into rescue life, Chewy is slowly learning to trust again. He’ll need a patient and compassionate adopter who will go at his pace, helping him feel safe and secure as he navigates the world with limited vision. With time, love, and a little extra TLC, this tough little guy is sure to blossom. Despite his past, Chewy is otherwise healthy for his age and ready to find a quiet, understanding home where he can finally feel safe and cherished for the rest of his days. Could you be the one to give this senior sweetheart the second chance he deserves for the duration of his golden years?  Chewy will need a dental cleaning; should he be adopted before his procedure, his adopters will be responsible for transporting him to/from the appointment. Waggytail Rescue will cover the cost of the procedure at one of our approved veterinary partners. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, lepto, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
