My story

Hi there! My name is Sophia and I'm at the Santa Maria Campus. I'm a 10 month old, female, domestic medium hair who came to SB Humane in search of a new caring home. I’m not the kind to rush right in— To noisy rooms or hearts within. I take my time, I move with care, And often choose to just stay there. New sights, loud sounds, a stranger's face— Can make me seek a hiding place. A quiet nook, a cozy den, Where I can watch and breathe again. But if you wait with gentle grace, And let me bloom at my own pace, You'll see me peek, then come your way— A little closer every day. And when I trust, I’ll softly show The purrs and love that start to grow. My eyes will shine, my heart will stay— In quiet love, I’ll find my way. I don’t need much—just calm and true, A tender home, a patient you. For some hearts bloom in slowest light… But when they do, they hold on tight. Interested in meeting me? When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Our adoption fees help support our community programs and the next animal who needs our help!
