My story

Lager is a yellow Labrador Retriever with a goofy personality and energy to spare. He loves to romp, explore, and play—he’s always ready to go. While Lager may come off a bit shy at first, give him some time and patience, and he’ll warm up into a fun, affectionate companion who acts like he’s known you forever. He’s very food motivated, which will be helpful as he learns his basic manners. Right now, he’s still working on polite greetings and self-control, so he’d do best in a home with older children who can handle his excitement. Lager keeps his kennel clean, which is a great sign for house training, and he's eager to please when there are snacks involved. We’re still learning how Lager feels about other dogs and cats, so any introductions should be done slowly and carefully. With structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Lager has all the potential to grow into a well-mannered and loyal best friend. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
