My story

Princess is as sweet as they come and absolutely loves being around people. She’ll happily lean against your legs for pets and will curl up next to you on the couch for cozy cuddle sessions — her favorite place to be is right by your side. Princess also enjoys getting outside for walks and adventures. She’s strong and athletic, so she’d love an adopter who can match her energy when it’s time for a stroll, and match her snuggles when it’s time to relax. Princess hasn’t had dog friends before, and other dogs tend to make her nervous, so she’s looking for a home where she can be your one and only dog. She also tends to chase cats, so a cat-free home is best. If you’re ready for a loving, devoted companion, come meet Princess and see if she’s the perfect addition to your life! You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
