My story

George is a big, fluffy cloud of love wrapped in a Great Pyrenees mix body! With his stunning white coat and gentle eyes, this giant teddy bear is as handsome as he is sweet. George is still learning his grown-up dog manners, so he'd do best in a home with older kids (13+) who understand that sometimes big dogs need a little extra patience and structure. True to his Pyrenees roots, George can be protective of his food, so mealtime should come with a little space and respect—but he's great with other dogs and enjoys their company! When we walked George through our cat rooms, he didn’t seem to mind the cats at all. With proper introductions, he could likely share a home with feline friends. He loves being brushed and bathed, and he's surprisingly good on a leash for his size. House training is still a work in progress, but George is a smart guy and eager to learn with a consistent routine and positive reinforcement. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
