Name: Thatcher Age: Puppy / DOB: 2/8/24 Gender: male Breed: Cattle Dog / Terrier Mix Weight: 42 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: sweet, attentive, intelligent, playful, easygoing Requirement: Not suited for apartment living, but would thrive in a town home or condo Adoption Fee: $500+tax   To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family: Thatcher has been in our home one week now and has adjusted well in that time frame.  He has demonstrated that he is house trained, he approaches strangers somewhat cautiously, but warms up quickly.  He has met at least 4 groups of new people including kids and has been very loving and friendly.  We have a cat, he is curious about him but stays back.  The cat has walked around him a couple of times and Thatcher does well.  He is alert when he sees birds/geese or hears other dogs etc.  I’m guessing his exposure to things is pretty limited so we have been introducing him to new things daily, a little at a time.    To get your attention he will take a sock, or shoe and bring it into another room.  He has not chewed these things up but does re-arrange them.  We go on walks on leash about 2X daily and he is interested in those outings.  Sometimes he hesitates going through doors.  When he’s relaxed, he craves attention and petting, will roll over and submit to be pet and hugged.  He has been sleeping in the house unattended -not in a kennel at night and during the day without  problems.    We have left the house - up to 4 hrs and he and his sister -our other foster sleep and do not seem to be alarmed.  He seems very healthy, his coat is pretty maintenance free.    He is off to a great start and should be able to be trained quite easily.  I believe he will attach to his owners and bond easily given time.  He has been loving to us just wanting to be part of a “pack” / new family.   &#226&#128&#139 August 6, 2025, 3:10 pm
